China is synonymous with tea, and tea with China. Despite the recent rise of coffee, Chinese tea culture continues to enjoy great popularity. Chinese tea culture is characterized by its diversity, as there are many different types of tea, each with its own unique flavor and characteristics. 

On May 12th, international students and HMT students went to a picturesque tea plantation located in Conghua to immerse themselves in the rich and diverse world of Chinese tea culture. Organized by the ISA, the event aimed to provide a hands-on experience for students to understand and appreciate the art of tea in China.

Their first task was to choose appropriate tea leaves and pick them in the right way. From plucking the delicate tea leaves to learning the various stages of tea processing such as withering, frying and rolling, the students gained a newfound appreciation for the intricate craftsmanship involved in creating the perfect cup of tea.

Furthermore, the students were also introduced to the art of the tea ceremony, they learned the graceful and meticulous techniques of preparing and serving tea.  

This event provided a unique and enriching experience for the international students and HMT students, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese tea culture. It was a memorable experience that left a lasting impression on all participants.
