Intl Students Bond Over Badminton at Friendly Get-Together

12 Oct 2025

Guangzhou, October 12, 2025 — Laughter, cheers, and the rhythmic sound of shuttlecocks echoed through the Sports Hall on Saturday afternoon as international students gathered for the much-anticipated International Student Badminton Get-Together. The event, held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, brought together students from various countries to celebrate friendship, teamwork, and a shared passion for badminton.

The get-together featured a mix of friendly matches and lighthearted competitions, allowing players to interact freely and enjoy the sport in a relaxed environment. While some matches were purely for fun, others sparked genuine competition and displayed impressive athletic spirit. The energy in the hall was infectious, with students cheering one another on, regardless of team or nationality.

One of the day’s main highlights was the men’s doubles match, which quickly became the crowd favorite. It was a thrilling best-of-three showdown that embodied both rivalry and camaraderie. Team A featured players from Thailand and Denmark, while Team B represented India and Indonesia — a perfect example of how badminton transcends borders.

The first set saw Team B dominate early, taking a confident 21–15 win with strong coordination and quick returns. However, Team A made a remarkable comeback in the second set, maintaining tight rallies and seizing victory 21–19. With both teams tied, the final set kept everyone on the edge of their seats. In the end, Team B managed to secure the win with a close 21–18, earning applause and cheers from all corners of the hall.

Beyond the competition, the event’s true success lay in the friendships formed and the memories made. Many students remarked that it was not only a sporting experience but also a cultural exchange, allowing them to meet new friends, learn about different countries, and share laughs both on and off the court.

As the afternoon came to a close, the smiles and excitement on everyone’s faces made it clear that the International Student Badminton Get-Together was more than just a game — it was a celebration of diversity, unity, and the simple joy of playing together.
